Adelman Meets with T-wolves, Vobora to 'Hawks, Niners Trade Mays

VOBORA SIGNS WITH SEAHAWKS

The "Mr. Irrelevant" (the last player drafted) of the 2008 NFL draft, LB David Vobora is in camp with the Seattle Seahawks. The first Mr. Irrelevant to make an NFL start was recently released by the St, Louis Rams after 3 seasons. The Churchill High product is expected to add depth to a linebacker corps that lost a key member when Lofa Tatupu was recently released. Vobora is the son of Andy Vobora, a Medford High Black Tornado standout in the 1970s.

MAYS FROM NINERS TO BENGALS

Safety Taylor Mays is headed to Cincinnati in exchange for an undisclosed draft pick. Mays-a USC product-started 6 games for the 49ers last season, but has played sparingly in the 2011 pre-season. He is expected to help a Bengals' pass defense that has struggled mightily through two pre-season contests.

ADELMAN MEETS WITH T-WOLVES

Two sources say former Portland Trail Blazers player and coach Rick Adelman is in Minnesota today to meet with officials from the NBA Timberwolves. Their head coaching position is open after the recent firing of Kurt Rambis. Earlier in the summer, Adelman-who most recently coach with the Houston Rockets-indicated he would take this season off from coaching. In 20 seasons, Adelman has won 945 games with the Blazers, Kings, Warriors and Rockets.
