Students In Need Get Back to School Shopping Help

28 local students did their back-to-school shopping today with help from the Medford Target store and the Salvation Army. Nationwide, the two will help some 12-thousand students.

Each child was given an $80 Target gift card for school supplies- including back packs, calculators, pens and pencils, and more. Local police and fire personnel served as volunteer chaperones.

Salvation Army Food Pantry Has Urgent Need

The Medford Salvation is announcing their food pantry has run out for the first time in its history. Food Pantry staff purchased enough food Thursday to last through the end of the day Friday.

The Salvation Army reports they have seen increased requests for help with food in recent years. The organization also feeds 200 or more people each week in Hawthorne Park.Read More »

Salvation Army Summer Fan Drive

The Salvation Army has kicked off its annual Fan Drive and is asking for help from the community in providing fans to senior citizens, disabled individuals and those with illnesses or families with infants.
