Applegate Grass Fire Burns 24 Acres

A grass fire at 5577 Little Applegate Road torched 24 acres at around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday. Nearly 40 firefighters were called to the scene from Applegate Fire District #9 and the Oregon Department of Forestry. Neighbor's Actions Quench Apartment Fire

A fire broke out Wednesday afternoon on the exterior of a small studio apartment on Highland Avenue in Grants Pass. The Rural/Metro Fire Department credits quick action by a neighbor in extinguishing the fire with a garden hose by the time they arrived moments later.  About 400-dollars damage was done to the home’s exterior and never entered the residence.Read More »

Grants Pass House Fire

Several fire departments responded to a house fire in the Grants Pass area that caused $75,000 damage this (monday) morning.  When firefighters got to the scene on Redwood Avenue the garage was fully involved in fire.  The property owner tried to fight the fire initially with an extinguisher.  A family pet died in the blaze but no other injuries were reported.Read More »

Fire Sprinkler Goes Off At RVMC

A fire sprinkler went off in the mental health unit at Rogue Valley Medical Center this Thursday caused a rush of firefighters and police to the hospital. Any flames were quickly doused, but flowing water necessitated a full response. Crews vacuumed up the water and police were investigating the incident.
