The Subway restaurant on Williams Highway in Grants Pass was the scene last night of an attempted robbery at 10:44 p.m. When the suspect demanded cash, the clerk triggered a “hold up” alarm, and the robber left empty-handed. The robber did not display a weapon in the attempted robbery. No one was harmed. Police are looking for a white male between 5-6 and 5-10 in his late 20s or early 30s.Read More »

The Medford School Board and union members have voted to approve a two year collective bargaining agreement for classified employees. A district press release says the agreement "fits within budget resources and preserves jobs." Morning Fire Quickly Extinguished at Erickson Air Crane

Firefighters from Jackson County Fire District Three and Medford Fire and Rescue quickly put down a fire reported at 4:40 a.m. today at Erickson Air Crane. Security personnel were the only employees at the scene at the time of its start and made the emergency call. Crews are saying the blaze started when an air compressor caught fire.
