Roseburg Airport Extending Runway

The Roseburg Regional Airport has expanded its runway in hopes of attracting more corporate jets. Airport Director Mike Danielle told The News-Review that the stripes being painted on runway this week will mark the final step in the $2 million project.

 The extension has added 400 feet to the strip, bringing its length to 5,002 feet.

Man Convicted For Kidnapping Coos Bay Girls

A man accused of taking two Coos Bay girls to a park and giving the marijuana and alcohol was convicted in Coquille of kidnapping. The Coos Bay World reports Robert Perez wept in court Wednesday. He faces about six years in prison when he is sentenced Oct. 1. He's also facing time for a separate conviction last week on burglary and theft charges.
