Progress Made on Central Oregon Wildfires

The Oregon Department of Forestry is reporting good progress on wildfires in Central Oregon. The Box Springs Fire, 25 miles northeast of Prineville is 75% contained, and the 470 acre fire should be fully contained by tomorrow. The Oregon Department of Transportation is hopeful that Highway 97 should be completely re-opened by 9 p.m. tonight. Smoke from the Military Fire- 45 miles north of Klamath Falls- has created visibility problems. Pilot cars have been guiding traffic through the area. The Military Fire burned 10 acres on Wednesday.
