Fort Complex Fire Update
Firefighters continue to experience challenging conditions in fighting the Fort Complex fire in Oregon and California. Hot and dry weather are causing concern, as is shifts in the wind. Relative humidity measurements have been coming in at 12 to 13 percent; fire managers become concerned with any reading below 20 percent.
As of earlier today, the group of fires had burned nearly 1,800 acres with one of them reaching Highway 96 near the community of Seiad. Motorists using Highway 96 between Happy Camp and Interstate 5 are urged to drive carefully.
